What gets checked, and why it stays private.
The ten checks are a first professional read: do claims carry numbers, do lines lead with achievements or duties, has filler crept in, and are the standard sections and contact details where readers and parsing software expect them.
The PDF path doubles as a parse test. An applicant tracking system reads only the text it can pull from your file, in the order it can pull it, and the text box shows you that exact view. Columns that interleave, or a scan that yields nothing, is your resume as the software sees it; a single-column, text-based layout is the fix.
Other checkers have you upload your resume to their servers. This one cannot: the analysis and the PDF reader (Mozilla’s open-source pdf.js) run in this tab, served from this site, and the site’s Content Security Policy, enforced by your browser, blocks the page from sending your text anywhere. Nothing is uploaded or stored; close the tab and everything is gone.
What a pattern check cannot read is the story: whether the right experience leads and the strongest claim is on the page. That is judgment work, and it is the part we do for a living.
